CANUCK POTTERY - SAINT JOHN-NB
« on: February 05, 2008, 03:56:23 PM »
Hi got this little black creamer (I think) it is.  It says on it "SASKATOON, Sask." (Gee, I wonder where that is....lol...here).  It is doubled stamped.

As far as I can figure CANUCK POTTERY is a division of FOLEYS pottery (c. 1890) by James William Foley.  This was located in Saint John New Brunswick (NB) and was later ran by his son (Fenwick).

Fenwick's son then opened Canuck Pottery in Saint John's (as so stamped on this).  There was then a fire which destroyed the building (1960's), and a new plant was built in 1963, BUT was now located at LaBelle, Quebec. All operation were discontinued in the 1970's.

Using this info, and is stamped with Saint John's mark, I am assuming this to date around the 1950's.  It is in mint condition, I love it -- and only $1. ;D
