Hi Carolyn,

Tigerchips is right, it's majolica, usually called a begonia leaf comport.  There's a lot of examples out there that aren't marked, and if so, it probably came out of England.  I find them there with amazing regularity.  It seems to have been a very popular motif with the Victorian crowd.  Hope this helps!

Yup, that's what I was trying to type   :blush:

No, no impressed marks. Just the 35 or whatever. Looks like it was done in a felt tip pen, but under the glaze.
